The release date for Death Stranding, which was initially planned for this year, has been postponed to 2024, according to publisher 505 Games. They made this decision in collaboration with Kojima Productions.
Earlier today, 505 posted on X (formerly known as Twitter), stating that they require additional time for something.
Delayed to 2024

In June, the news about Death Stranding ports surfaced as Hideo Kojima, the creator of the series, revealed himself as a devoted Apple fan for over two decades. He mentioned his loyalty to Apple since 1994 when he purchased his initial Mac.
During Apple’s WWDC 2023 keynote address, Kojima expressed his long-standing aspiration to witness his team’s exceptional creation on the Mac platform. Kojima revealed that his studio’s backing for Mac would commence “later this year” with the release of Death Stranding Director’s Cut.
Kojima expressed that there is more to come, indicating that the studio is currently engaged in efforts to make future Kojima games available on Apple’s diverse platforms. In the month of September, Apple unveiled the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max models.
Death Stranding 2

These new iPhones come with the exciting capability to support various popular games, including Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil Village, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, and even Death Stranding.
Kojima is currently in the process of developing a follow-up to the popular game Death Stranding. This sequel will feature renowned actors Elle Fanning and Shioli Kutsuna from Deadpool 2.
Additionally, familiar faces such as Léa Seydoux, Norman Reedus (who previously hinted at the game’s development), and Troy Baker will be reprising their roles in the series. The developer has recently revealed new information about his upcoming project titled OD.
Kojima has described this upcoming release as a unique combination of a game, a movie, and a new form of media. He has been collaborating with director Jordan Peele, who is well-known for his work on films like Nope and Get Out. This partnership brings together their creative talents for OD.
