<p>In Overwatch 2, every player receives a Skill Rating (SR) after finishing their Placement Matches. This rating is assigned separately for each role &#8211; DPS, Support, and Tank &#8211; in both Role and Open Queues. </p>



<p>However, it&#8217;s important to note that SR is no longer used in Overwatch 2, as it is considered a remnant from Overwatch 1, particularly with the recent Competitive overhaul in Season 9.</p>

<p>After the Competitive overhaul in Season 9 of Overwatch, all players experienced a reset of their ranks. This reset will occur at the beginning of each rank year, eliminating the need for players to redo their placements every season. </p>
